Death from ebola Congo rises to 33

- In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the total number of people who died as a result of Ebola disease has risen to probably 33 in two weeks, according to the Ministry of Health of the African country.

In the case of thirteen victims, the diagnosis is certain, of twenty others the official cause of death has yet to be determined, but these people had the same symptoms.

The country is expected to begin next week with the distribution of Ebola vaccines in the affected areas to try to prevent further spread of the disease. That said the Congolese Minister of Health Oly Ilunga Kalenga.

It was announced on Friday that death in a hospital and the subsequent unsafe funeral of a 65-year-old woman in the Democratic Republic of Congo had been the source of the recent outbreak of the disease. That made the World Health Organization WHO known.

Peter Salama, head of the WHO emergency service, said that at least seven family members who had been in contact with the woman also died of Ebola symptoms. The disease may have spread to ten other places, the organization fears.
