Dead sperm whales stranded on German island

wangerooge - On the German island of Wangerooge two dead sperm whale washed ashore. The largest is 13 meters long, the other 12 meters. The animals lie on a sandbank for the beach and can only be reached at low tide, said a spokesman for nature conservation organization Mellumrat Saturday.

Only in the afternoon, the sperm can be accessed on foot. It is not yet clear what will happen with the carcasses of dead animals. According to the police they have minor injuries, which may, however, not the cause of their death. The two whales have long been dead.

Has not previously been Wangerooge sperm whale washed ashore.
