Dead at riots in Gaza Strip

gaza - Israeli soldiers have shot a Palestinian demonstrator in the event of disturbances at the border between Gaza and Israel. At least sixty people have been injured.

The Israeli army reported that during riots Friday at the border crossing shot at two instigators of the riots. Both have been hit and one of the two has died according to Palestinian aid workers.

In the Gaza Strip and in many places in the areas occupied by Israel, demonstrations have been held against the American decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

For the international community, Jerusalem is a city that should play a central role in peace negotiations on two states peacefully side by side, a Jewish one (Israel) and a Palestinian one. The Arab East Jerusalem would then become the capital of Palestine.

The recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital is, in the eyes of Trump's critics, a reward for Israeli policy to thwart a two-state solution.
