Data recorder salvaged American ship disaster
- Researchers found after a search of ten months recovered the data recorder from the sunken cargo ship El Faro. The ship sank last year during heavy weather in the Bahamas, with dozens of deaths.
The data recorder, similar to a black box in airplanes, has long been missing. Researchers found the device Monday (local time) on the seabed. The recorder may shed light onthe events leading up to the sinking of the El Faro.
All 33 crew members of the ship came last year to life. Therefore the cause of the disaster remained unclear. The question is whether the mystery could be cleared up quickly. According to the chairman of the US National Transportation Safety Board may take a while before all is clear why the ship sank.
