Criminal proceedings against Bill Cosby continues

- The criminal case against Bill Cosby continues. A judge in Pennsylvania ruled that the need for a complaint of sexual abuse before the court, even though the abuse was ten years ago. That Steven O'Neill decided Wednesday US time after a two-day hearing.

The team of supporters of the 78-year-old actor and comedian believes there is no case. Counsel rely on an agreement with the prosecutor in 2005, which lays down that Cosby would not be prosecuted for an encounter with basketball star Andrea Constand, who has lodged a complaint of abuse against their client. The judge did not follow that.

Cosby heard the verdict unmoved. If the facts of the case prove to be correct and the actor is convicted, Cosby can get up to ten years in prison. So far it is not yet. In a preliminary hearing is first determined whether there is enough evidence for a trial. A spokesman for Cosby reported that the defense is going against the decision of the court of appeal.

The comedian, who played a model father in his hit series The Cosby Show, has been accused by dozens of women from sexual misconduct. The case of Constand is the only one where Cosby has been charged criminally.
