hurghada - Agricultural poison is possibly the cause of death of an English couple in a luxury hotel in Hurghada.

John and Susan Cooper were under mysterious circumstances three weeks ago in the Steigenberger Aqua Magic on the Red Sea in Egypt.

The daughter of the couple, who also stayed in the hotel with her three children, insisted from day one on a good investigation by Thomas Cook, the travel agency that offers the resort. According to Kelly, her parents had complained about a 'strange smell' in the room the night before their death.

The Egyptian authorities immediately stated that the two had died of a heart attack and that 'given their age' (64 and 69) was 'normal'.

The British tour operator decided after an initial investigation to evacuate all 300 of its own customers from the five-star hotel.
