Concrete blocks protect 22 Belgian stations

brussels - At the entrances of 22 larger railway stations in Belgium, concrete blocks are provisionally placed. The precaution must prevent a vehicle from entering a station. There is no specific reason for this, emphasizes rail company NMBS.

The intention is that the blocks will be replaced later this year by galvanized columns. The costs are estimated at 1.6 million euros. The tendering procedure is ongoing.

The decision was made some time ago in consultation with the government. In one of the largest stations, Brussels South, travelers have to walk through concrete blocks for a while to enter.
