Computer virus discovered in the Bavarian nuclear power station

- In the Bavarian nuclear power station Gundremmingen is a computer virus discovered. The malicious software was noted in the preparations for a revision of Block B of the plant.

Danger to personnel or the population has not been there, because all the sensitive parts of the nuclear power plant is not connected to the Internet. However, the regulators and the Federal Office for Information informed, according to the center.

Specialists operator RWE now have to figure out how the virus got into the computer system dating from 2008.

Last weekend have 750 people demonstrated at the nuclear power plant for an early closure of the remaining two blocks. Gundremmingen will be closed in 2021.
