Complains against President Duterte at the Criminal Court

hong-kong - A Filipino lawyer has filed a complaint with the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and his significant staff at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. He accuses them of crimes against humanity in combating drug crime.

The lawyer is based on the statement by Edgar Matobato, who declared to the Senate of the Philippines that he was part of a murder command that served on the president's order. According to the complaint, Duterte and eleven senior government officials are liable for murder.

The International Criminal Court had previously expressed concern about the way in which Duterte fights drug criminals. Nearly 9000 deaths would have fallen. According to a spokesman for Duterte, that is not true.
