World December 8, 2015 15:07

- Colombia has recently acquired two German U-boats in the fight against drug traffickers. Increasingly, smugglers make use of mini- submarines to transport their goods from the south to Central America. Bogotá bought for 110 million euros, the U23 and U24, submarines of 500 tons, 49 meters long and 23 crew members.

Drug traffickers often go to water in Bay of Urabá, near the border with Panama. From there, trying to reach them over the Caribbean Sea, Panama and Central America. There is no road link between Colombia and Panama. Transport between the two neighboring countries, legal or illegal, should have the water or air.The Colombian army put all surface ships against the cocaine mafia. In that way this year already intercepted 51 tons. The annual production of cocaine in Colombia drops sharply and is now an estimated 300 to 400 tons.
