Cologne uneasy for protest against AfD

cologne - The first groups of participants in a demonstration against the right-populist party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) arrived in Cologne early on Saturday. The police revealed that it is uneasy and that there have been some incidents.

In the Deutz district, a group of hundred protesters tried to break a police corps. Agents returned the activists. In another part of the city the tires of a car have been cut.

AfD holds a national party day in Cologne on Saturday. Through various channels, the left-extremist scene has called on to come to the city. But there are also other organizations that want to argue against the AFD, such as the local carnival association. The police takes into account a total of 50,000 protesters.

The police sends more than 4000 people to the streets to lead the demonstrations.
