paris - The high water level in the Seine causes problems in (train) traffic and there is a high risk of flooding and power outage. Vigicrues, the authority that measures the water levels in France, has issued Monday orange code for parts of Paris.

Some Paris metro stations are closed and some of the Louvre museum is closed. It is not only about flooding in the Seine, but also by the rivers Marne and Yonne. In some parts of Paris the water level is still rising and entire streets are flooded.

The Seine in Paris reached the highest level of 5.80 meters in the night from Sunday to Monday. Approximately 1500 people were evacuated from their homes in the French capital and surroundings. The floods are the result of a considerable amount of precipitation in January.
