'Chinese hacked Clinton'

washington - US President Donald Trump claims that Chinese hackers invaded e-mail accounts of his opponent Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election campaign. He stated that via Twitter but gave no proof.

For the time being, Russian hackers are seen as the culprit. Last month it was announced that the US is persecuting twelve Russian intelligence officers for interference in the 2016 US presidential election. The twelve are being accused of hacking the Democratic Party administration and Hillary Clinton's campaign.

In his claim about Chinese hackers, Trump probably relies on the right-wing populist blog Daily Caller that is not seen as a serious news source. The blog relies on anonymous sources within the secret services.
