new york - A Dutch app preparing sick children at the hospital and a website about painter Jeroen Bosch have been given Webby Awards on Tuesday. These are the most important digital awards in the world, also called the 'internet Oscars'. The prizes will be awarded on 16 May.

With the Hoi Doctor app, children can learn at home what they are waiting for when they come to a hospital. The application was made by the Amsterdam bureau Fonk. The NTR and partners received a Webby for the website about the Garden of Lusts, an interactive tour of a painting made by Jeroen Bosch between 1503 and 1515.

KLM won at least five Webby's. Three for the iFly 50 site, bringing fifty destinations to attention, and two Webby's for the online service 'Layover with a Local', which lets passengers who wait for their flight get in touch with Amsterdammers.

There were a total of 407 winners this year, in categories as best sports podcast, best fashion app and best online animation.
