Chaos at the Brussels office by rattled alarm clocks
brussels - A congress of people from the financial sector in the building of National Bank in Brussels was disrupted by alarm clocks on Thursday. Six alarm clocks went off simultaneously in the hall that mimicked the sound of a ticking time bomb, reports the Public Prosecution Service.
Some participants had called the police about a possible attack in panic around 10.30 am. The three hundred attendees at the conference of the European banking federation EBF were evacuated and a safety zone was set up.
The entire building has been searched. The Brussels public prosecutor's office reports 'that there is no more risk of explosion. 'The police are investigating who placed the alarm clocks in the auditorium and how that happened.
