Chain collision by fire in carnival cars

brussels - A fire in some carnival cars under a viaduct caused a major accident in Belgium on the E314 motorway towards the Netherlands.

At Maasmechelen, just across the border at Geleen, three trucks and five passenger cars collided. A person was killed, says Flemish media.

Due to the heavy smoke released by the fire, a traffic jam arose on the motorway. A chain collision arose in the traffic jam. The police have closed the road in both directions.
