Cell punishment for test page hackers

london - A 24-year-old Briton was sentenced to two years in prison, because he had created a site where hackers could test their malware. At reFUD.me they could see against payment whether their malicious programs were able to bypass antivirus software.

Goncalo Esteves, alias KillaMuvz, from the city of Colchester ran into the light after a joint investigation by British justice and cyber security Trend Micro. He also made two programs, Cryptex Reborn and Cryptex Lite, with which hackers could disguise their malicious programs to get through the security of computers. That is called FUD, an abbreviation of Fully UnDetectable. Esteves even had its own customer service via Skype.

Between 2011 and 2015, Esteves received a total of 32,000 pounds (36,000 euros) through more than 800 transactions via PayPal payment service. He also paid for bitcoins and Amazon vouchers, so justice assumes that he has earned much more.
