Cave rescue almost went wrong: 'You saw the water rising'

Two hours after the last Thai cave boy was freed, the water pumps at the Tham Luang cave system did it. Some hundred rescue workers still present in the cave had to flee the rapidly rising water.

Australian divers report that during the operation. 'Suddenly we saw groups of rescue workers on the run. You saw the water rise again in parts of the cave ', says a diver in Australian media. Because the cave had to be evacuated in a hurry, hundreds of diving bottles were left behind. No one was injured by the rising water. Why the pumps went down is not clear.
