Cape Town still later without water

cape town - Cape Town expects the dreaded 'Dag Zero' to take longer. If rainfall does not occur, there will probably no longer be water from the tap in the metropolis on 27 August. Inhabitants must then report to distribution points to get water rations.

The municipality predicted last month that 'the day on which we may have to queue for water' would start on 9 July. The revised date falls within the usual 'rainy season. 'The municipality therefore takes into account that there is still precipitation.

'Provided we continue our efforts to save water, Dag Zero can be completely avoided this year,' the local authorities report in a statement. The problems are caused by the persistent drought. The reservoirs that supplied the city with water therefore became increasingly armed. The authorities called on residents to limit their water consumption to 50 liters per day.
