California sex crimes barred no longer

sacramento - In the US state of California, victims of sex crimes more time to report. Wednesday signed a law allowing lapsed limitation period of 10 years. The reason for the new law, the lawsuit against the comedian Bill Cosby.

Many women say decades ago to have already Cosby drugged and abused or raped, but could this not be prosecuted, because these issues have now been barred.

The bill will not be implemented retroactively, so most women who have reported on Cosby can not use.

In June starts a lawsuit alleged abuse that took place in 2004. Cosby has denied all allegations. According to the American prosecution only 2 percent of the perpetrators of a sex crime is eventually convicted.
