Burglar stuck in elevator shaft

- A burglar in Germany has proven itself a disservice when he fled into the elevator shaft during a break in an office when police caught him.

For he came on their own and no longer had to surrender.

The incident was in an office building in Chemnitz in the eastern state of Saxony. The 25-year-old man had stepped into the night between Wednesday and Thursday on a ladder and had smashed a window to get inside. Patrolling police officers saw, however, are the ladder and discovered as well as the broken window, after which they entered the building and caught the burglar.

The man hid in the elevator shaft, but that turned out not a happy choice. The fire brigade was called in to get him, after which he was arrested.
