Brussels urges Germany to tolplan

brussels - The German plan to introduce tolls for passenger cars should be adjusted. There is discrimination against foreign drivers and that is contrary to European rules. The European Commission urges Germany Thursday also customize this, otherwise threatens a corridor to the European Court of Justice.

It is not the first time that Brussels criticizes the German plans, but those criticisms were not followed. the EU's executive board is therefore compelled officially to take this (second) step in the so-called infringement procedure.

Germany wants the toll everyone to pay for the use of highways, but German car owners have the toll offset by a reduction in road tax. According to the European rules is a toll permitted only if it does not discriminate on nationality.
