london - About two thirds of British trade union members are in favor of a new referendum on the Brexit. This is evident from a poll among more than 2700 members of the three largest associations, according to The Guardian Sunday.
Of the members of Unite, the largest trade union, 59 percent is in favor of a new plebiscite and 61 percent want to stay in the EU. Polls among the members of the two other policed unions, Unison and GMB, show a similar picture.
Many trade unionists believe that employment will be reduced if Great Britain leaves the European Union. They also fear that the standard of living will go down.
The British trade unions meet for an annual conference on Monday. The brexit will be discussed at that meeting.
