British taxi shooter will not be released anyway

london - A British court has drawn a line through the planned release of John Radford, who for years abused women in his taxi. Two victims objected to this, reports British media. Their lawyers argued that Radford had deceived the committee that decided that he could be released.

The sixty-year-old Radford, whose name used to be John Worboys, has been behind the bars for ten years. He is known as the 'black cab rapist' (rapist in a black taxi), who dehydrated and abused female customers. The police suspects that he made 105 victims between 2002 and 2008, but a court eventually sentenced him to crimes against twelve women.

An independent committee had decided that Radford could be released under certain conditions, but now has to make a new assessment. The court ruled that the commission should have taken into account not only the criminal offenses for which Radford was convicted, but also the other accusations.
