amsterdam - The criticism of the UN Special Committee on the 'illegal detention' of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has many Brits totally shot in the wrong way.

Not just for Foreign Affairs Minister Philip Hammond called the criticism 'totally ridiculous , other British politicians left no chip throughout the report.

The UN Committee on Arbitrary Detention ruled that Assange 'without legal basis' was detained, but according to British critics, the committee went too far out of line. 'At what point does the UN decided that it needs to make strong for people accused of rape?', The Conservative lagerhuislid David Davies asks. 'This man is accused of a serious sexual offense against women. '

The Liberal Democrat Alistair Carmichael wants Assange is tried in Sweden. 'The UK has a legal duty to comply with a European arrest warrant. It is of great importance that the throughput government. '

In the British press, the credibility of the UN Commission is strongly questioned. The
Telegraph points out that decision only in four of the cases brought in 1325 to the detriment of the complainants were between 2009 and 2014. In other words, if you say you unfairly stuck, this commission gives you almost always right. Also, a long list of cases in which there is quoted UN committees interfered with matters that were strictly British affair, in which she often came to very questionable statements.

Even the respectable
Guardian, which invariably sided with Assange in the WikiLeaks affair, takes a stand against the commission. 'The UN could so sit next to?' The newspaper asks commented on in an editorial.
