eastbourne - The British police have discovered an advanced weapons factory in a small town in the south-east of England. The illegal arms factory in Hailsham, near Eastbourne, was on an industrial estate and had as a cover a company that would occupy itself with gearboxes.
According to British media, the National Crime Agency (NCA) speaks of a workplace where 'large-scale highly sophisticated weapons' for a criminal clientele were manufactured.
In connection with this case, three men aged 29 to 63 were arrested this week. The police have seized weapons and ammunition. According to a spokesperson for the NCA, it is more common for makers of illegal firearms to choose a quiet and unobtrusive town for their activities.
