beirut - The Uber driver who is detained in Lebanon for abusing and assassinating the British diplomat Rebecca Dykes has told the police that he liked Dykes. The man would also have spoken in interrogations about the short skirt worn by the victim, according to Daily Mail.
The suspect, previously identified as Tarek H., would have made his revelations immediately after he was arrested. H. would have seen an easy victim in the British (30) because she was foreign.
Dykes would have been strangled. On the day of her death she would have been spotted in a bar, according to local media. Since 2010, Dykes has worked for the British government.
H. would have picked her up on Friday evening after a party with his taxi. What exactly happened then is not yet clear. Dykes was killed two weeks ago along the way in the Lebanese capital Beirut. The police tracked the suspect with surveillance images.
