Border agent arrested for death of four women

laredo - The police in Texas have arrested a border police officer who is suspected of killing four women in the last two weeks and of kidnapping a fifth woman.

The 35-year-old suspect was found in a parking lot in the city of Laredo, about 240 kilometers southwest of San Antonio, where he was hiding. A woman he had abducted according to the indictment had escaped and informed the police. 'We believe we have strong evidence against this man,' said Sheriff Martin Cuellar of Webb County, 'Our community is safe for this killer.'

The bodies of two women were found by local media earlier this month along Interstate 35 in the northwest of Webb County. The bodies of the third and fourth woman were found in this neighborhood this weekend. The identity of the victims has not been disclosed.
