hasaka - A suicide bomber on Monday placed a bomb on a Kurdish wedding in Hasaka, in northeastern Syria. According to local media reports have therefore been at least thirteen people dead. That death toll is likely to rise further. A spokesman for local police said on TV that 55 injured. Many are in bad shape.
Hasaka is largely controlled by the Kurdish militia YPG, who took over from the Syrian government military power in August. It only has a symbolic foothold in a security zone in the center of town.
