Bogotá: FARC continues to trade in drugs

bogotá - The Colombian rebel movement FARC still has not taken leave of the drug trade, as agreed in the peace negotiations. So says the head of the Colombian narcotics squad. The FARC stir up opposition to the destruction of illegal crops even says Jose Angel Mendoza.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, such as the movement's full name, finance their struggle for decades from the trade in narcotics. But during the peace talks with the government, which is now almost completed, the FARC locks to some agreement on the issue and promised an end to the practice. The rebels undertook to sever ties with drug traffickers, coca cultivation to suppress and to help combat the manufacture of drugs.
