manila - Philippine soldiers found the body remains of the septuagenarian German hostage Jürgen Kantner. He was beheaded in February by the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf. Both his mind and his body were found, according to the Philippine army.

The remains were found in the remote southern province of Sulu and taken to the morgue of a hospital. Once all the formalities have been completed, the body will be flown to Germany.

The terrorists killed because Kantner had not been made on time the ransom of the equivalent of approximately 575 000. Abu Sayyaf posted a video of the beheading on the Internet.

Abu Sayyaf holding dozens of hostages, including the Dutchman Ewold Horn who was kidnapped by the group in the southern Philippines in February 2012. Abu Sayyaf claims to be part of the Islamic State.
