Belgian reporter Cologne harassed

- A Belgian reporter for the French-speaking broadcaster RTBF has been harassed with obscene gestures during her live report from Cologne. Esmeralda Labye did Thursday report from the city where many women flock around New Year by groups of men at the station were insulted and groped. The massive assault shocked Germany and would be repeated during the Cologne Carnival which begins Thursday.

Esmeralda Labye Cologne before that Labye was raised to the German city. She spoke to the audience about the approaching carnival while some passers uitsloegen obscene language and reprehensible gestures made toward her. The mayor of Cologne RTBF on behalf of the city apologized, news agency Belga reported.
