washington - The meeting of President Trumps son Donald Jr., son in law Jared Kushner and the then campaign boss Paul Manafort in June 2016 with a Russian lawyer affiliated with the Kremlin, was 'treacherous, unpatriotic and bad shit'.

That is what Steve Bannon says in the book Fire And Fury by the American journalist Michael Wolff, of which the British newspaper The Guardian has a pre-publication. His statements are high, because Bannon, even after his forced departure from the White House, is seen as one of Trump's most loyal allies.

Bannon, who is now editor-in-chief of the right-wing Breitbart website after working for Trump as campaign boss and chief strategy, is extremely disdainful about the meeting of Trump Jr. Kushner and Manafort: 'The three main boys in the campaign seemed a good idea to invite a representative of a foreign government to a meeting in Trump Tower without attorneys. 'It seemed Bannon had a better idea if the meeting had taken place in a motel somewhere in New Hampshire and that Team Trump would have sent only lawyers.

The meeting was set up after the campaign team was given the promise that they would receive incriminating information about Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump Jr. responded in a mail enthusiastically to the offer: 'I love it!'

The suspicion of Bannon is that the meeting will be central to the investigation of special prosecutor Robbert Mueller, who will examine the alleged conspiracy between Team Trump and the Kremlin: 'Mueller's way to destroy Trump is via Paul Manafort, Don Jr. and Jared Kushner. '

Bannon thinks Mueller in particular Donald Trump Jr. on the grain: 'They are going to break Don Junior live on television as if he were an egg. '
