Bali airport will stay closed for days longer

jakarta - The Denpasar airport in Bali will remain closed for another 24 hours. The Indonesian Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday that the airport will remain closed at least until 7 a.m. on November 29 (local time) because of the ash coming from the volcano Agung.

A report from local air traffic control has shown that 'the routes of the aircraft are clogged with volcanic ash,' the ministry said, volcanic ash is dangerous because it can damage turbines of jet engines, clog fuel and cooling systems, and pilots can see can obstruct.

The airport of neighboring island Lombok is reopened according to the authorities, after it was closed a day earlier as a result of the volcanic eruption.
