Author Pat Conroy deceased

beaufort - Pat Conroy, author of bestsellers as 'The Prince of Tides' and 'The Great Santini,' Friday at the age of seventy in his hometown of Beaufort in the US state of South Carolina deceased.

Said his publisher. Conroy was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Many of Conroy's works were about the dysfunctional family in which he grew up and which was dominated by a tyrannical father, a fighter pilot in the Marines who fought in four wars at home and hit his wife and seven children. Because of the military career of the father moved Conroy for eighteen years he was a whopping 23 times.
