World January 16, 2018 06:24

sydney - The Australian government commends 1.3 million euros for the rescue of the coral in the Great Barrier Reef. 'This is an open invitation to our best scientists,' environmental minister Josh Frydenberg said Tuesday.

The Australians hope for innovative solutions to protect the coral and to heal the reef.

'The coral reef is the largest living wonder of the world,' Frydenberg said. 'Because of the extent of the damage large thinkers are needed, wherever they come from'. In the past two years coral bleaching has been observed in many places in the Great Barrier Reef. The largest coral reef in the world lies off the Northeast coast of Australia.
