Arrests at anti-PKK operation Turkey

- In a major police operation in Istanbul, the Turkish police arrested twenty people, including some lawyers. The action was directed against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party PKK.

According to Turkish media Wednesday were raids at 32 places in the city. In eight other provinces were also actions but about Nothing more is known.

Turkey has intensified the fight against the PKK after the attack last Sunday in Ankara which 397 people were killed. Monday was according to Turkish authorities 45 PKK fighters slain during airstrikes in northern Iraq. In southeastern Turkey fought Turkish troops in several places with PKK supporters.
