'Army chief North Korea executed '

seoul - The North Korean army chief General Ri Yong-gil was executed this month. North Korea experts in the South Korean capital Seoul, according to Yonhap news agency reported this Wednesday.

Since 2013 the general was chief of the general staff of the Korean People's Army. He is due to self-enrichment and corruption put to death.

Ri Yong-gil was often seen during inspections of the armed forces by dictator Kim Jong-un. However, he was suddenly no longer there when for instance, celebrations were held to mark the launch on Sunday of a long-range missile.

He was not on the published list of key participants. In his place was named General Ri Myong-su. Which would now be the successor of the executed officer.
