Arab princes offered Trump jr. Help

World May 19, 2018 21:39

washington - Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of the American president, met with an envoy of the crown princes of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in early August 2016. He offered him help on behalf of his clients during the election campaign. That writes The New York Times.

The newspaper claims that the conversation was arranged by Erik Prince, the founder of Blackwater, a private company specialized in military missions. He was present himself, as was Joel Zamel, the boss of the Israeli consultancy Wikistrat.

A company affiliated with Zamel already worked on a plan for a 'secret manipulation campaign of millions of dollars via the internet' to help Trump Sr. win the game. For that, thousands of fake accounts would be created on the social media.

The intermediary who promised Trump Jr. the support of Arab princes was George Nader, a Lebanese American businessman. In the US, it has been illegal for foreigners to donate money for political campaigns since 1974. They are also not allowed to donate to political parties. The embassies of the UAE and Saudi Arabia have not yet responded to the news coverage.
