Approximately 180,000 asylum applications in Germany

- In Germany this year already filed 181 405 applications for asylum. That is 112 percent more than the same period last year, reported Friday the Interior Ministry in Berlin.
The large increase is due to the fact that many of the more than one million refugees who arrived last year, long have to wait until they could formally apply for asylum.
