Tech May 13, 2016 10:16

- Apple has $ 1 billion (880 million euros) invested in the Chinese company Chuxing Didi, also known as Uber China. CEO of the American company Tim Cook thinks that the two companies can work together in the future.

'We have a number of strategic reasons for the investment, including an opportunity to learn more about certain segments of the Chinese market,' Cook told Reuters. 'Of course, we also believe that our invested capital will produce a strong result in the long run.'

Didi Chuxing left in a statement that Apple's investment is the largest amount the company has ever received at one time. The company is a market leader in China with 11 million rides per day or 87 percent of all shared rides in private vehicles.
