'App is not a good contraceptive'

World January 16, 2018 14:00

stockholm - An app that should serve as a contraceptive, Natural Cycles, does not seem to work well. A Swedish hospital claims that dozens of women who have used the app have become pregnant. Natural Cycles indicates daily on the basis of body temperature whether a woman is fertile or not.

The abortion clinic at the Södersjukhuset hospital in Stockholm signaled the unwanted pregnancies of Natural Cycles adepts. After some tumbling, employees came to at least 37 cases in which the contraception app failed. The hospital informed the Swedish authority for medical products.

The app has a CE marking and is therefore approved for sale in the European Union.
