Antique plane crashes in Hudson
- An antique plane Friday crashed in the Hudson River in New York. In addition, the pilot was killed.
The plane, a vintage P-47 Thunderbolt, crashed at the height of Manhattan's West 79th Street, a few kilometers south of the George Washington Bridge.
The rescue operation was coordinated from a temporary headquarters in a nearby marina, where guests at a nearby restaurant were watching the rescue operation.

The Thunderbolt, made at the time of the Second World War, was with two other aircraft took off from an airfield in Farmingdale, a place on Long Island. The two other devices know to return safely.
An investigation has been held into the cause of the accident.
