World June 12, 2018 16:45

rome - An American naval ship has rescued 41 refugees from a sinking dinghy off the coast of Libya. For twelve passengers, the help came too late. Their bodies are salvaged. This was reported by the German aid organization Sea Watch with which the captain of the USS Trenton contacted the radio for assistance.

The Sea Watch 3, sailing under the Dutch flag, according to spokesman Ruben Neugebauer is on his way to the Trenton. It is not known how many migrants were on board the vessel before it got into trouble. 'This happens when there is not enough rescue capacity at sea. This shipwreck shows that we are badly needed, 'Neugebauer said.

The Aquarius from relief organization SOS Méditerranée is unavailable for the next ten days because the ship brings refugees to the Spanish Valencia, which were not welcome in Italy and Malta.
