Amazon is competing with YouTube

- Amazon is an online video service that allows users to put their movies on the internet. Internet trader will thus compete with YouTube. That reports The Verge.

The new service, Amazon Video Direct, offers users many opportunities to monetize their videos. The videos can be offered for free, for rent or for sale. There may also be closed on subscriptions movies.

The videos can free via Amazon Video or Amazon Prime Instant Video are put on the Internet. Revenues are shared on a 50/50 basis with Amazon.

For now, the new video service is only available in the United States, Germany, Austria, England and Japan.
