Alarm after smoke in Brenner Base Tunnel

innsbruck - During work on the Brenner Base Tunnel in Austria, smoke was released when the drill broke fire when drilling. Twelve tunnel workers fled the security container. The whereabouts of three others is as yet unknown.

Nothing is known about any wounded.

The Brenner Base Tunnel runs from Innsbruck to South Tyrol. The longest tunnel in the world will soon be 64 kilometers long. It is expected to be delivered in 2026.
