Airbnb for household chores
- The Dutch startup Butler Buddy aims to become the Airbnb for household chores. The service enables users to hire each other for small jobs.
Butler Buddy is a closed network, where users themselves can make new people. Other users can find out where someone is inserted. The initiators have chosen here because it brings confidence. In real life people rent also the 'via-via' people.
Users can either log on to the network to search for an expert or to present himself as a craftsman. The jobs offered on the network ranging from handyman to babysitting and grocery shopping assistance.
To get the service off the ground, the company is a crowdfunding project started on Continue. en. In the first week, 16 percent of the targeted € 65. 000 picked up starting capital. With the money, the founders hope to fill the network with supply and demand and they want to launch an app. In the initial phase, the service is only active in Amsterdam and the Gooi region.
Completely original is not the initiative. Earlier this year Jobado was launched where people can also apply for jobs ranging from do it yourself work to language courses. Jobado when users post a job after handymen can respond. When Butler Buddy, users can actively search for a specialist. Butler Buddy can also set their own hourly rate, as long as they do not go down below the minimum wage.
