Agreement on Italy's coalition program

World May 18, 2018 09:57

rome - The Five Star Movement (M5S) and the Lega are finally in agreement about a coalition program in Italy. Protest party M5S released the joint program Friday on their website. Party members must now speak about it online. On Thursday, according to sources, it was already clear to the parties that Luigi Di Maio from M5S and frontman Matteo Salvini from the far-right Lega agreed on a government program.

However, it is not yet clear who the future prime minister of the government should be. The two Euro-critical parties must still negotiate this sensitive issue in the coming days.

According to sources at the Italian news agency ANSA, M5S MP Emilio Carelli would be a candidate. Carelli wanted to say nothing against ANSA about his possible candidacy on Thursday.
