- France has for the third consecutive day air attacks on the Syrian stronghold of Islamic State (IS) Raqqa. Ten warplanes took part in Tuesday 's attacks, said Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Le Drian vowed that France will intensify the campaign against the terror group in the coming days. He added that he believes that Russia's position shifts since confirmed that a plane carrying Russian tourists last month has been blown up by Islamic State.
" Russia is shifting because today, Russian cruise missiles hit Raqqa. Perhaps a grand coalition with Russia is possible, given the recent developments ", he said, referring to the call from President Hollande to form a grand coalition against IS.
