Afghan army frees 59 men from Taliban

kabul - Special units have Sunday the Afghan army freed 59 people who were being held by the Taliban. The group was detained in the southern province of Helmand and according to an army spokesman of 37 soldiers, seven policemen and fifteen civilians.
NATO forces were only in the background involved in the operation. Government forces in Afghanistan fighting in the area for months against fighters of the Taliban.
